Favorite holiday

I miss Christmas!

Good afternoon my dear readers. Got up today and started missing Christmas time. The smell of the pine tree, eggnog, hot chocolate with peppermint candy cane in it, Apple cider and of course Christmas music. What is happening LOL.
Usually for Christmas I go to Russia my birth place. The way they decorate St Peterburg and Moscow during Christmas time is out of this world. And every year it gets better and better.
Every place is decorated magically. Cafés and restaurants have more than one decorated Christmas tree with other unbelievable holiday decoration throughout the whole place. The Christmas music playing in the background whether it is live or playing from an iPad.
Every day after breakfast it is a tradition to go to Red Square to ice skate. Next to the ice-skating rink there is a café where we always had Russian style donuts.
After lunch each day we went to a museum, Gallery or cathedral. Tretyakovskaya  gallery was one of my favorite in Moscow. Pushkin museum was historical as well. My favorite cathedral was Russian orthodox church Christa Spasitelya.
Russian Christmas spectacular is a must to see. It is in the Kremmel theater and it is amazing. Super colorful and with unbelievable details. Ballet at the Bolshoi  theater was also amazing. It is always on my do list.
Music from the Nutcracker was playing everywhere.
I did enjoy going to Hermitage palace to introduce myself to our last royal family. I wish we still had a royalty in Russia. What a sad ending to the Russian royal dynasty.
My favorite thing in St. Petersburg was sitting in any café that was facing river Neva. Something is magical about this river. It is not like any other.
Well..... I can talk and talk about Russia but I do not want to make you tired and lose you as a curious reader LOL.
Cheers to you all with hot chocolate and a candy cane.
